Articulated Figurines 〰️
The figurine collection is designed to spark meaningful conversations about identity, gender, and self-acceptance among young people. Each figurine embodies diverse body types, skin tones, and expressions of individuality, promoting inclusivity and body positivity. The goal is to create more than just collectible figures — these figurines act as a tool for self-expression and identity exploration, allowing young people to see themselves represented in tangible, empowering ways. With customisable features, this collection invites users to take control, celebrating uniqueness in every form.
This project holds deep personal significance as it stems from a lifelong passion for collecting and a belief in the power of objects to reflect our inner selves. Collecting has always been a way for me to see myself in the things I hold dear — each object tells a story, invokes a memory, or represents a part of my identity. I’ve also been inspired by research into how current dolls and figurines impact developing minds, particularly in terms of body image and self-worth.
This project is my attempt to reimagine that space, offering young people the chance to feel seen and represented, and to engage in meaningful conversations about gender and identity through play and personalisation.

I sculpted in Nomad to get an organic finish as to move away from harsh edges and create a softer result. These were then sent into 3DS Max for construction of the interconnected parts and sizing, 3D printed in SLA and finally constructed with wire and strong elastic.
The overall aesthetics are still in development and all hair, painting and clothing will be created for further customisation. In the end I hope to showcase a line of figurines you will be able to reflect on and have control over the final outcomes.
